Description
Knowing when someone is telling the truth and when they are lying is a critical skill for law enforcement investigators, but most often their accuracy is the same as flipping a coin; roughly 50%. Academic research suggests that investigators would be more successful at detecting deception if they focused on the words people use rather than other commonly used cues, which may mislead the investigator. This 3-day training program, “Investigative Statement Analysis; Truth through what they S.A.I.D.” is a comprehensive course utilizing our unique “S.A.I.D.” concept, providing the investigator with skills to obtain information from people, orally and in writing, in the best possible manner and guides them on assessing the language whether it is written such as statements, transcripts, memos etc, or oral during interviews, interrogations, 911 calls, etc. Through the analysis of the words people use, investigators will gain insight into the individuals thought process and obtain a tremendous tactical and psychological advantage in prioritizing and conducting follow-up interviews, directing their investigations, and reaching accurate conclusions relating to the veracity of the information that people provide. This training is based upon the principle that the psychological stress associated with deception manifests subconsciously within our choice of words. Many times even the motive for the crime will be identified through careful analysis, which often goes undetected by investigators who have not received training in this powerful technique. This class is hands-on and students learn through individual and group exercises and real-world cases.
